Investments in Mexico’s Power Sector
The energy reforms in Mexico opened the electricity sector to private investment. Consequently, we expect lower power costs for consumers and industry, and increase the usage of renewables. Roughly $20 billion of investments are needed in conventional electricity generation, and another $70 billion – $80 billion is needed for renewable generation.
Capital spending in Mexico’s power sector provides opportunities for investors with development expertise in wind, solar, and natural gas.
